The United States
Of America
Stands
One Nation United!

One nation united in word and in deed.
Standing together in time of great need,
The gulf has been hit by a terrible flood.
Fifty great states! One people, one blood,
WE STAND AS ONE NATION UNITED.

On Sunday the states in the gulf were at rest,
Like an eagle. When hurricane winds struck her nest.
Thousands were stranded with no place to go.
No water or food and rescue seemed slow.
WE FELT IT! ONE NATION, UNITED.

America is a people of might.
Helping each other and doing what’s right,
A flood of destruction has shaken our land.
But trusting in God, united we stand.
REBUILDING, ONE NATION UNITED.

Everyone in my family lived in St. Bernard Parish except me. Everyone in that parish lost their homes and everything in them. My beautiful mother lost her life along with many others. I am grateful for your prayers that will help those survivors gain the strength needed in the slow rebuilding process and I thank you for your heatfelt compassion for those of us who lost loved ones. My heart goes out to everyone affected especially those of you who also lost a loved one. Grateful for your kind words, Charlene - submitted from: Baton Rouge LA United States on 9/2/2006 11:40:41 PM

Before the devastating powers of nature we are weak, yet we have to work together and help each other out. My thoughts go to all the victims and their families, to the survivors and to those who evacuated and lost their all. More than a year has passed, but some things are hard to get over. May life get normal for you again. May those who can do something help you. May God help you out and support you. My thoughts are with you always. - submitted from: Munich Germany on 9/12/2006 12:56:52 AM

God bless you all! I saw a Memorial on tv last night that was dedicated to all the people who died in hurricane Katrina and I never realized that there are people whose idenities are not known or that they expect to find more people inside of the houses that are damaged!
